Location: Coventry

Starting Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 P/A (Negotiable depending on experience)

Working Hours: 37.5 Flexi Hours — ideally 9:00–3:00 Monday to Thursday, 9:00–1:00 Friday

The Company

Over the past 80 years, our client has grown to become a leading scientific manufacturer specialising in high-quality products for the medical industry.

As a multi-site organisation with a major footprint across the UK and Europe, their Coventry site is home to approximately 80 skilled employees, each contributing to the company’s continued success and growth.

The Site

A newly developed, modern facility featuring clean-room production environments and three primary production units, each processing over a tonne of material per day.

Machinery: Laser Cutting Machines, Mixing Machines, Checkweighers, Needle Threading Machines, Flow Wrappers, Clean Room and Laboratory Equipment, Belt-Fed Conveyors, Storage Tanks, Boilers, and other specialist production systems.

The Team: Working alongside one other Process Engineer, supporting site-wide process optimisation and continuous improvement projects.

The Role: Process Engineer

  • Optimise plant performance and overall manufacturing efficiency across production and laboratory areas.
  • Plan and deliver process improvement projects using Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Automate and streamline clean-room environments to enhance productivity.
  • Manage process documentation — including SOPs, validation reports, and regulatory documentation.
  • Lead and support in-house CAPEX projects in collaboration with contractors and the engineering team.
  • Use analytical tools such as Minitab to support data-driven process optimisation.

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualifications: Degree in Chemical Process Engineering, Food Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3–5 years as a Process Engineer within a manufacturing environment (Chemical, Food, or Automotive sectors preferred).
  • Profile: Self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills, passionate about continuous improvement and process efficiency.
