Shift Engineer
Location: Coventry (CV3)
Starting Salary: £46,000 P/A
Shifts: 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights)

Our client is a family-run manufacturer of liquid hygiene and household cleaning products, supplying UK grocery stores with over 1 million spray bottles every week.
After 60 successful years in operation, they partnered with a major parent company that has since invested over £100 million into their Coventry site — driving growth to a record £25 million turnover and supporting a proud workforce of 80 staff.
With long-term supermarket contracts secured and production at an all-time high, this growth has created an opportunity for a Shift Engineer to join their highly skilled maintenance team and ensure smooth plant operation.
The Role: Shift Engineer
Machinery: Conveyors, Automated Bowl Feeders, Automatic Labelling Machines, Multi-Head Filling Machines, Weighing Systems, Barcode Scanners, Pumps, and Liquid Processing Equipment.
- Perform breakdown maintenance across automated production machinery.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maintain high uptime and efficiency.
- Conduct machine changeovers and setups in accordance with production requirements.
- Execute mechanical fitting tasks such as replacing gearboxes, bearings, rollers, chains, motors, belts, drives, and sensors.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and quality standards across all engineering activities.
Entry Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years as a Mechanical Fitter, Installation Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or Service Engineer.
- Qualifications: City & Guilds, NVQ, or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, ideally gained through a recognised apprenticeship.
