Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Burton on Trent
Basic Salary: £41,500 – £43,000 P/A
Shifts: Panama Shifts (Adapted to a More Favourable Pattern)
Rotation: 5 Days | 5 Nights | 10 Days Off (Only 1 Saturday Worked Monthly, Zero Sundays)
Reason for Hire
Due to expansion, our client is now looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team, supporting breakdown and planned maintenance activities across their fully automated manufacturing plant.
The Role: Maintenance Engineer
- Respond to mechanical breakdowns across the plant, diagnosing and repairing faults on a variety of machinery.
- Work on equipment including Conveyors, Robots, Weighers, Packaging Machines, Mixing Systems, Loading Equipment, and Kilns.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) using job sheets to complete detailed checks and repairs.
- Perform fault finding on Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
- Assist with project work — including machinery installations, plant shutdowns, and continuous improvement projects.
Entry Requirements
- Qualifications: City & Guilds, NVQ, or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Maintenance or Installation, ideally gained through a recognised apprenticeship.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as an Electrically or Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled) within Aggregates, Quarrying, Recycling, Coal, Food, Distribution, or Packaging Manufacturing.
- Attitude: Team-focused, proactive problem solver, and eager to learn new technical skills.
