Field Service Engineer (Metrology)
Location: Derbyshire
Shifts: Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM / Friday 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Starting Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (Depending on Experience)
Annual Earnings: £41,750 – £55,000 P/A
Overtime: Approx. 10 Hours per Week (Average)

The Role: Field Service Engineer
This is a home-based, customer-facingmetrology and precision measurement sector. The position offers variety, autonomy, and continuous development, supporting cutting-edge measurement technologies.
- Fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
- Perform regular preventative maintenance and service visits
- Decommission, move, and re-commission CMM systems
- Retrofit and rebuild existing machines
- Upgrade and install CMM software and hardware
- Verification and calibration of metrology equipment
Entry Requirements
- Qualifications: City & Guilds, NVQ, or BTEC Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, ideally gained through a recognised apprenticeship.
- Experience: 5+ years as a Field Service Engineer, ideally within Metrology, CMMs, or Dimensional Measurement.
- Skills: Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability, confident working with precision equipment and automation systems.
