Salary
: £75,000 p/a + 8% Bonus.

Hours: Mon-Fri days 40 hours per week.

The Business
With the investment and backing of a successful parent Group, our client has become one of the largest and most reputable suppliers to the building trade.

Currently operating 250 sites across the UK covering a variety of sectors from Building Products, Aggregates, Ready mix, Highways and Recycling. 

Aircrete Blocks is one of the most profitable divisions within the business, between the two sites in Linford and Alfreton they produce over 10 million tonnes of product per week.

Engineering Team: 2x Maintenance Managers, 4x Engineering Team Leaders and around 20 Maintenance Engineers. 

The Role: Engineering Manager 

Responsibilities:

• Implement PPM strategy, influencing the engineering culture to shift from reactive to planned maintenance and drive reliability and plant performance.
• Capex project management, working with external contractors to ensure projects are commissioned on time and to budget.
• Day to day supervision and management of the engineering team, recording actions on the CMMS system and looking at ways to improve efficiency.
• Interviewing and recruiting within the maintenance department.
• Purchasing materials, spares, tools to ensure shifts are appropriately resourced.
• Prioritising breakdowns on site ensuring production is returned in a timely manner.
• Ensuring high Health & Safety standards on site.

 Entry requirements:

  • 5 Years minimum experience as an Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer, Factory Manager or Head of Engineering.
  • Ideal industry experience would be Aggregates, Quarrying, Brick/Cement production, Recycling, Food, Distribution or general manufacturing environments (Ideal large scale with 15-30 reports).
  • Passionate and influential, experienced with culture change and engaging maintenance teams.
