Maintenance Team Leader
Starting Salary: £55,000 + Overtime
Annual Earnings: £55,000 – £60,000 (Including Shift Cover, Shutdowns & Project Work)
Shifts: Panama Shifts (3’s & 2’s rotating between 12-hour days and nights)
Benefit Package: Overtime at x1.5 (Week & Saturday), x2 (Sunday), + 1 Day in Lieu for Bank Holidays. 14% Pension, 23.5 Shifts Annual Leave, Private Medical Insurance, Sick Pay (up to 6 months), Life Assurance (3x Salary).

Auxtronic is partnered with a globally admired intralogistics and warehouse automation systems integrator, world-renowned for delivering cutting-edge technology across the Parcel Sortation, E-Commerce, 3PL, Online Supermarket, and Warehouse Distribution industries.
Their product range features over 100 high-specification automated systems, including Autostore, Robotics, Sortation, and CarryPick technologies, alongside a bespoke Warehouse Management System.
Beyond turnkey design, manufacture, and commissioning, our client also provides resident maintenance contracts for key accounts, maintaining decade-long partnerships with some of the UK’s largest online retailers and supermarkets.
This opportunity is based at their flagship Magna Park Distribution Centre — a site that has invested heavily in automation over the past decade, offering an excellent environment for an ambitious Engineering Team Leader to develop and lead a high-performing team.
Machinery List: High-Bay Cranes, Robotics, Conveyor Systems, Autostores, Miniloads, Shuttle Storage Systems, Lifts, Elevators, Lowerators, AGVs, Pallet Wrappers, Visual Inspection Machinery, and Barcode Scanners.
The Role: Maintenance Team Leader
- Lead a shift of 3–5 engineers, overseeing breakdowns and planned maintenance across a high-speed automated distribution centre.
- Coach and mentor your team, conduct performance reviews, and train apprentices to build a strong engineering culture.
- Hands-on Multi-Skilled Maintenance (approx. 60% Electrical / 40% Mechanical).
- Fault finding with Siemens PLCs, Multimeters, and Schematic Diagrams.
- Assist with shutdowns, installations, and project work during seasonal peaks.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency.
- Promote Health & Safety compliance and complete all required shift documentation.
Entry Requirements
- Leadership Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Maintenance Team Leader, Deputy Engineering Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or Senior Engineer.
- Engineering Experience: 5+ years as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. Experience in Automated Distribution Centres preferred; FMCG, Automotive, or Food & Beverage also desirable.
- Qualifications: HNC, HND, or Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering (ideally via recognised apprenticeship).
- Desirable: Siemens S7 PLC fault finding/modification and maintenance of automated high-bay cranes.
