Location: Wigston, Leicestershire

Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8-hour Day Shifts (6:00 am – 2:00 pm / 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm)

Salary: £51,000 P/A + £3,000 Annual Bonus (paid in April)

Auxtronic is partnered with a global leader in the manufacture of snack and confectionery products, currently offering an exciting career opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their Wigston bakery.

Role Briefing

The successful candidate will help maintain a high-speed, fully automated bakery manufacturing Jacobs Crackers and Chocolate Digestives.

Machinery: Conveyors, Ovens, Packaging Machinery, Vision Inspection Systems, Weighing Equipment, Pallet Wrappers, Liquid Filling Machines, Dryers, Seasoning Machines, and Robots.

The role consists of roughly 60% Mechanical and 40% Electrical Maintenance, covering both breakdown support and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).

Hiring Requirements

  • Qualifications: City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (ideally through a recognised apprenticeship).
  • Experience: 5+ years as a Maintenance Engineer within a high-speed manufacturing environment — ideally Food or FMCG.
  • Skills: Strong Mechanical and Electrical competence with proven fault-finding and repair ability on automated machinery.
