Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Starting Salary: £52,000 P/A

Shifts: Panama Shifts (3’s & 2’s – 12-Hour Shifts)

Their flagship site in Ashby-de-la-Zouch employs over 200 people and produces more than 2 million packets of crisps every day across several high-speed automated production lines — the equivalent of over 50 tonnes of packaged product daily.

They are now seeking a Multi-Skilled, Electrically-Biased Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team, maintaining modern equipment in a world-class manufacturing environment.

The Role: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Machinery: Conveyors, Industrial Fryers, Robots, Seasoning Machines, Multi-Head Weighers, Metal Detection Equipment, Bagging Machinery, and Case Packers.

  • Perform electro-mechanical maintenance in a highly automated food manufacturing plant.
  • Respond to breakdowns, fault-finding and repairing machinery to minimise downtime.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using PLC systems, Multi-Meters, and Schematic Diagrams.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing of equipment, replacing worn components as required.
  • Support project-based installations, upgrades, and site enhancements to improve efficiency and performance.

Entry Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years as an Electrical or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, ideally within the Food & Beverage or FMCG sectors.
  • Qualifications: HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, ideally gained through a recognised apprenticeship programme.
