The Business
Auxtronic is partnered with a global leader in the manufacture of snack food and confectionery products, offering an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their flagship Manchester bakery.
With a staggering £2.2 billion annual turnover, 34 global sites, and over 2,600 employees, our client is one of the most recognised and adored confectionery producers in the world.
Within the UK, they manufacture over 300 products including household favourites such as Chocolate & Caramel Digestives, Rich Tea Biscuits, Jaffa Cakes, Go Ahead Bars, Flipz, BN, and Hobnobs. Recently, they launched the popular White Chocolate Digestives, also produced at this site.
Following a £25 million investment in new, state-of-the-art production lines, the bakery continues to expand its capacity — with plans to produce Club Bars by mid-2025.
Our Opinion
What makes this opportunity stand out is the market-leading benefits package, lifestyle-friendly shift pattern (less than 50% of the year worked), and the job satisfaction that comes from producing some of the UK’s most loved snacks.
Retention is exceptionally high within the 40-strong maintenance team — many engineers have stayed between 5 and 30 years. Reasons include strong support for professional development, rewarding and modern automation systems, and a friendly, collaborative culture.
